About
Sensei Francisco Jorge has over 35 years of martial arts training and experience. He began his martial arts journey at the age of 12, starting with Sifu Jose Abreu in Shaolin Dragon Kung Fu in 1979. When the school relocated to New York, Sensei Jorge was unable to continue his training there.
In 1982, Sensei Jorge commenced training in Tang Soo Do-Moo Duk Kwan with Sensei Mark Mayer at the Jung Do Academy in Elmwood Park, NJ. He achieved his Black Belt in 1991 and later, a 6th-degree black belt in 2015. The academy was later renamed Mayer’s Karate and Fitness.
While continuing to embrace the traditions and teachings of Mayer’s Karate and Fitness, Sensei Jorge began training in Hung Gar with Sifu Pedro Cepero at Yee’s Hung Gar Academy in Clifton, NJ, in 1998. He trained there until 2003 when he moved to Las Cruces, NM.
In 2003, Upon moving to Las Cruces, NM, Sensei Francisco Jorge started training with Sensei Ernest Hewitt at the Sleeping Dragon Dojo in Goshin Do Ryu. Tragically, Sensei Hewitt passed away on October 2, 2013, which coincided with Sensei Jorge’s birthday. That same year, Sensei Jorge earned a 4th Degree Black Belt under Sensei Edward Wilkes, who succeeded Sensei Hewitt.

After many years of dedicated training and teaching, Sensei Jorge opened his own dojo in 2005 in Las Cruces, NM, named Blue Dragon Dojo. He teaches a traditional combined martial arts system that includes Tang Soo Do-Moo Duk Kwan (Korean Karate), Goshin Do Ryu (Japanese Judo/Jujitsu), and Southern Hung Gar (Chinese Kung Fu).
